In our first 2013 edition of "People on the Move" I thought we'd take a brief moment to thank two Board Members for their service and dedication to the PCMA NCC. Jens Weiden and Michelle Holmberg have served for numerous years on the PCMA Board in various positions, and we want to say a sad "goodbye" but a loud and boisterous "CONGRATULATIONS!" on their new ventures.
Michelle recently served as President, leading the PCMA NCC to a wonderful 2012. One particular highlight among many others was to help orchestrate the NCC's 1st annual Bowl-a-Thon. In true San Franciscan style, Michelle left the Intercontinental, and the industry, to explore a job with a tech start-up. Michelle is now a Direct Sales Associate for Xero
, a fantastic web-based accounting software for small business. It's so good that PCMA NCC now uses it! (More news coverage
Jens' most recent post with NCC was as Treasurer. He was instrumental in establishing a high level of accounting procedures, maintaining the tight budget that we operate on, and making sure PCMA NCC was generally running above board. He was a vital member of the Board and always had a high level of insight and engagement. He was also an important part of setting up and creating a now annually sold out event, the NCC Reception at AT&T Park! He has taken his wife and new baby boy down to SoCal to take a position as the Chief Revenue Officer at the Rose Bowl! The Rose Bowl hosts UCLA football, the annual Rose Bowl game, and numerous other concerts, religious services, and the world largest flea market. His services will surely be appreciated as the Rose Bowl is in the midst of a $165M renovation.
Thank you to both of you! You are and will continue to be sorely missed.
