Follow up your afternoon with an evening reception, and if you still want more, take an optional sail on a Great Lakes schooner. On day two, Pam Henderson, Ph.D., author of You Can Kill an Idea, but You Can't Kill an Opportunity
, will show you how to become an opportunity thinker. The event will wrap up with an interactive session sharing thoughts on how to apply what you've learned during your Innovation Summit experience.

Becoming an Opportunity Thinker With Pam Henderson, Ph.D.
Growth starts with killing ideas! Have you ever seen the potential for growth, but the ideas developed have not delivered? This is all too common...Ideas alone often fail us! It takes about 3,000 ideas to get to 100 projects, which result in only two launches, producing, on average, one product that breaks even! Taking an opportunity-centered approach can drastically improve those odds. The lab will involve a hands-on approach to learning how to be an Opportunity Thinker.
Industrial Design: Communicating Ideas Through Prototypes
Prototype the perfect conference bag that fits everything you need to survive your next conference. You'll need agile thinking and teamwork to integrate ergonomics, utility, anthropometrics and style into your design. Your prototype will be tested as other teams put it through its paces. This experience gives you a new tool kit for communicating ideas in the workplace.
Logo Workshop: Identifying Your Brand
Explore your brand and hone your corporate identity as you work with Discovery World's professionals to manipulate your company's logo. Using Adobe Illustrator, you'll create a conference logo that solidifies your message and explore how great logos communicate ideas instantly and effortlessly. Walk away with a printed version of your logo. Participants must bring a digital version of their logo. High resolution illustrator files are preferred. High resolution .jpg or .tiff files are suitable.
Video Production: Presenting Your Message
Create a 30-second promotional video to highlight your organization or upcoming events. Work with Discovery World's video production team to create an engaging message and strengthen your communication skills. Receive a web-friendly digital copy of your video to share across multiple platforms. Improve your communication and presentation skills in this experience. A script template will need to be completed in advance of the conference.
Molecular Gastronomy: Redefining the Everyday
Go ahead, play with your food. More importantly, play with your idea of what food might be. Gain a new perspective on the everyday through the combination of chemistry and food science. Redefine food using gelling compounds to provide new textures and shapes to noodles, eggs and even caviar. You'll leave the experience with samples to share with your colleagues.
