Charity of the Year

PCMA Capital Chapter has selected Hospitality High School as our charity of the year. Hospitality High School builds the next generation of the hospitality industry by putting students on track toward college and a career in hospitality. Keep an eye out for fundraising opportunities and be sure to buy 50/50 raffle tickets at PCMA CC future events. Hospitality High School Summer Internship Program

Hospitality High School (HHS) partners each summer with DC Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) to provide PAID internships for their students. The program runs 6 weeks from July 1 through August 9, 2013 and HHS completes all time card and payroll processes, conducts periodic site visits, lends HR assistance and advice for intern sites, and provides an evaluation form for participating host organizations.

Students under age 16 are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week, while older students can work up to 25 hours a week. Interviews are set up for Friday, June 14, at 9:30 a.m. at Hospitality High School. The expectation is that HHS interns will perform and participate in a variety of tasks and positions, based on your business needs and available positions. HHS’s goal is to expose students to an array of industry careers and to develop personal work skills and competencies.

If you are interested in becoming a host site, please email rrink@visitphoenix.com.  Additional information regarding the program is available here.
