Session Description:

An intimate panel of industry experts interact directly with each other and attendees to expose and shatter the myths and legends behind those little things that annoy us – internet charges, nickel and diming, unexpected costs – no subject is out of bounds!

Learner Outcomes:

  • At the end of the session, attendees will more fully understand, if not necessarily agree, on the unspoken issues, sore spots, points of contention in these, and more areas:
    • Internet charges
    • “hidden” or unexpected costs
    • Extra fees
    • The ‘why’ of policies and procedures
    • Exclusivity vs preferred
    • Patch fees, and other fees to non-preferred suppliers
    • Commissions to preferred and exclusive suppliers
  • Attendees will experience a  proactive style of moderation and participation that is different to the usual way of conducting panel discussions at PCMA and other industry sessions
    • Audience participation via proactive moderation (think ‘Donohue’)
    • Panel participation via proactive moderation (think ‘Meet the Press’)
    • Statements will be challenged, presenters will not be able to engage in “monologueing” as the moderators will initiate conversations and debates
  • Supplier and planners will be able to better anticipate client needs, objections and gain valuable insight to enhance negotiations by hearing the other side’s issues and concerns  in an open, non-threatening environment
