Locally sourced food and beverage creates uniquely responsible events.

Metro Toronto Convention Centre is already recognized as a green pioneer for its commitment to sustainability and cleaner events. It is now taking that promise a step further by choosing to source local, Ontario-produced food for all its events.

Toronto is surrounded by one of the finest culinary regions in the world. The fields, farms, wineries, breweries, and craftspeople of Ontario provide the city with an ever-expanding selection of the freshest produce, pastured meats, artisanal cheeses, maple syrup, honey, preserves, wines, craft brews, and breads. The short growing season offers seasonal delicacies and is enhanced by greenhouse operations across the province, which allows the convention center to offer its guests its Locally Sourced Menus - the freshest and best of Ontario - all year round.

While the Metro Toronto Convention Centre strives to raise the bar on sustainability, it recognizes that responsible choices are important to its clients as well. Seasonal menus are a natural match to a Bullfrog Power or Zero Waste Event, and fair-trade teas and coffees and sustainable seafood options are always available. Its team of chefs is poised to ensure that clients’ food-and- beverage experiences are as exciting as they are responsible.

With the Local Food and Beverage program in full swing, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre invites visitors to take part in the journey on its Local Blog - as Kelly Hughes, local food procurement officer, takes them to the places where great food comes from, offers some informative local food tips, and shares the center’s successes and challenges.
