Raleigh, NC – The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) announced that Jamie Rice has been named Regional Director of National Accounts for the Washington D.C. area market, where she will be based.

In her new role, Rice will oversee the Washington, D.C. sales office, which also includes the Maryland and Virginia territories. Charged with selling the entire Wake County community, including the Silver LEED Certified Raleigh Convention Center, she will target all national association, corporate and 3rd party accounts, excluding religious and minority organizations.

“Jamie is the perfect fit for the Greater Raleigh team where she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the meeting industry to our Convention Sales department,” said Denny Edwards, president and CEO of the GRCVB. “Being headquartered out of Washington, she will be able to maintain a constant presence at conferences and meetings that are critical for the success of promoting Greater Raleigh as a premier meeting and convention destination.”

Rice brings more than 15 years of hospitality and tourism industry experience to the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau. Most recently, she was National Sales Manager for Freeman, and has previously worked for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), as well as the Toronto, Baltimore and Rochester, NY Convention & Visitors Bureaus.

“People are constantly talking about the Raleigh area and how it is a great place to live, work and play,” said Rice. “I am excited to be part of that conversation and continue to educate decision makers that North Carolina’s Capital City is a premier place to host their meetings and conventions.”

Rice is an active member of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meeting Planners International (MPI), Association of Meeting Planners (AMPs) and Miami University Alumni Recruiting Network.

The Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, as the official destination marketing organization of Raleigh and Wake County, accelerates sustainable economic growth and development by increasing visitor and convention business.
