In Louisville, you’ll find a place that offers the warmth and hospitality of the South, the convenience and ease of the Midwest, and the sophistication and cultural creativity of a major metropolitan location. From attractions to eats, Louisville has it all.
It's a place where attending the convention is only half the fun. After the meeting, head down to Fourth Street Live!, the city's premier entertainment district, take a casual walk through the largest residential Victorian neighborhood in the country or raise a glass along the Urban Bourbon Trail.
A great place to start is Louisville’s Museum Row in the west Main Street district in downtown Louisville. Within four walkable blocks, you’ll have the opportunity to experience 10 different attractions like the Louisville Slugger Museum and Bat Factory, Muhammad Ali Center, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, the Kentucky Science Center, Glassworks, Kentucky Show and Frazier History Museum. Many attractions participate in the “Show your badge” program and will offer a discount.
There is plenty to see outside of downtown as well. Louisville has an award-winning zoo, the largest Victorian neighborhood in the country or you can try taking a zip line that is completely underground at Mega Zips and Adventure Tour. We are in Derby City, so you can’t forget to check out the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs.
With all of that site seeing, you are bound to work up an appetite. Lucky for you, Louisville was named one of the “Best Foodie Getaways around the World” by Zagat for a reason. If you are looking for some new flavors, you might try Louisville’s trendy upcoming area called NuLu just east of downtown. Farm to fork flavor, a rockin’ tacos and even a chocolate themed café, NuLu’s got it. You can also check out “Louisville’s restaurant rows.” If you are looking for them on a map, they are actually called Bardstown Road and Frankfort Avenue. If you are looking for something familiar, 4th Street Live! is a great place to grab a bite too. They have a food court for something quick and restaurants like Hard Rock Café, TGIFridays and other favorites.
There is something for everyone in Possibility City. As locals like to say “it is not what to do, it is what to do first.” Enjoy! Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau
