Amy Harper, CMP, PCMA Heartland Chapter President | Jun 17, 2014
The Heartland Chapter has had a wonderful year so far.
Our events have been quite successful, full of great education, community service and networking.
We are a leading chapter in membership retention. In addition to that, we have a number of extremely talented and dedicated volunteers.
A new development has arisen with the executive committee. Jennifer Lion has accepted a promising new role with her company. To that end, she has stepped down as our President Elect. We wish her best of luck with this new adventure. I am pleased to announce that Kristen Kimbrel is our new President Elect, Sherie Howell will continue on as our Treasurer and Elizabeth Huston is our new Secretary. Please congratulate these ladies on their new roles with the executive committee.
The fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital, in conjunction with our May 8 event, went quite well. I want to pass on the hospital staff and patient’s gratitude for the donations we provided. I received a card full of thanks addressed to the chapter and was told we put a lot of smiles on children’s faces.
The Education Conference this year in Toronto is just around the corner in late June. Just prior to the conference, some board members and committee chairs will attend a chapter leader’s workshop. We’re very excited to bring new ideas back to the Heartland Chapter and continue our focus on member relations.
Heartland chapter still has many more events to come this year. Some of these include the joint PCMA/KCMPI event in July, the first annual golf tournament in August and the annual state of the industry event in November.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at events and would love to hear more about what makes PCMA valuable to you.
