3 Big Names You Can Meet at Convening Leaders

By David McMillin

As meeting professionals from around the world come together in Boston for Convening Leaders 2014, PCMA and Freeman are working together to facilitate intimate discussions with the program’s most powerful speakers in the Learning Lounge 2.0. The list includes some of the brightest minds in today’s evolving technological landscape: MIT Professor, Sinan Aral, the founder of
Yahoo Tech, David Pogue, global finance expert and Yale lecturer, Dr. Vikram Mansharamani.

And that’s just the beginning. For Convening Leaders attendees looking to make the most of their time in Boston, the Learning Lounge 2.0 is designed to dig even deeper than the traditional classroom setting. Rather than letting the closing minute of a keynote address or master’s series session mark the end of a discussion, attendees can bring their questions to Hall A on the Hynes Convention Center Plaza level.

“We’ve all been in those sessions that we didn’t want to end,” Stacey Thorpe, senior producer, Freeman, says. “This year’s Learning Lounge is designed to make sure that attendees can continue their most compelling conversations.”

The Power of Peer-to-Peer

While the Learning Lounge 2.0 rosters includes some of the most notable speakers in this year’s program, the space is also designed to help meeting professionals share insights with their peers in the Playroom, too. From sharing the biggest nightmare event experiences to discussing new floor plan designs, attendees can chat about the most pressing trends and issues in a relaxed environment.

“There is so much to digest at Convening Leaders,” Thorpe says. “One of the best ways to make sure all the valuable new knowledge resonates is to provide a way for attendees to further explore new ideas together.”

The Learning Lounge 2.0 officially opens at 10 AM on Monday, January 13. For a full list of who’s speaking, what’s happening and why you should spend time there, click here.
