Medina, a developmental molecular biologist focused on the genes involved in human brain development and the genetics of psychiatric disorders; faculty in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and director of the Brain Center for Applied Learning Research at Seattle Pacific University; and author of the "Molecules of the Mind" column for the Psychiatric Times, New York Times bestsellers Brain Rules; Brain Rules for Baby; and others; has had a lifelong fascination with how the mind reacts to and organizes information.

 Sarah Lewis is the author of The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery, a current Du Bois Fellow at Harvard University, appears on Oprah's “Power List,” is a member of the President’s Arts Policy Committee, and has been profiled in Vogue Magazine. She received her B.A. from Harvard, M. Phil from Oxford, and Ph.D. from Yale. She was a speaker at TED2014 in Vancouver, BC.
