Donation Drive - Network for the Needy®

2014's Donation Drive is benefiting the Red Door Family ShelterFamilies come to the Red Door Shelter through a referral from agencies such as Children’s Aid Societies, Public Health Department, Police Services, through Central Family Intake (CFI), the city’s clearinghouse for shelter beds for families and for women with children fleeing domestic abuse, other shelters, or through word of mouth upon the advice of friends.

In addition to providing emergency shelter so that individuals and families can escape abusive or unsafe situations, the Red Door offers critical support services when they arrive, during their stay and as they make the transition to independence. First, they make sure that they receive necessary counselling, support and health care. Later, they provide outreach services that are designed to assist families to remain housed and independent in the community.

At the Red Door, residents are given the resources and the time they need to heal and to ultimately achieve their goal of independence. In other words, these Red Door Services offer hope as well as help:  Shelter and Basic Necessities, Healing and Strengthening and Transitional support and outreach.

Donation Needs: travel toiletries, women’s socks/underwear, school supplies. Click here for additional donation ideas.
