What is National Meetings Industry Day (NMID)?

NMID is first and most importantly an educational event. This MPI initiative has three objectives:

  1. to define and shape the meetings and events profession in the future;
  2. to help raise the profile of the industry and the benefits it generates for communities and institutions across Canada;
  3. to discuss the economic impact of meetings in their region with people who are outside of the industry

This year’s event in Toronto will focus around what meetings mean to those in our industry and how we work with and impact other industries in the creation and execution of meetings and events.

Our esteemed panel of experts will demonstrate the value of the meetings industry through the economic impact that meetings have in Toronto, citing many examples such as the Microsoft Conference in 2012.

By completing the phrase "Meetings Mean Me Because..." we will learn how our expert panelists view our industry and how we are connected to many other industries.
