14:00-15:15 - Monday 19 May

John Folks, Founder & President, mindingyourbusiness inc.
Max Suzenaar, Founder of mindingyourbusiness inc, and Leader of "new think"

Does your meeting have one or more elements that everyone puts up with year after year, just because you've always done it or it's extremely important to a small fraction of members? It's time to embrace change. Find out what you can do to gracefully retire past-their-prime elements so you can update your meeting and appeal to more members from different generations, interest groups, and geographical locations. Case studies from medical societies will be provided with practical takeaways that are relevant to any organisation looking to revamp their meetings.

Learning Objectives:
1. Analyse how to get buy-in from your board and internal staff on meeting changes
2. Explore how to get your membership on-board with change
3. Utilise best practices for modernising your meeting

XYZ City may have a beautiful beach, historical significance, or international cache.  But is that really enough these days?  PCOs and Clients are taking a hard look at alternative advantages, resulting in today’s changing nature of destination selection.  So what are the criteria that Organisers are now using to evaluate destinations and how is it affecting the strategic marketing by the Bureaux?  How can Bureaux and destinations position their offerings more effectively to attract business?  What does success look like for all concerned?
