Program Description:
Some combinations are hard to beat! Peanut butter and jelly, Sonny and Cher. The list goes on. At KCMPI, our perfect combination is the dynamic one-two punch of Sporting Kansas City and speaker Michael Dominquez. Sporting Park is the beyond beautiful home of Kansas City's most successful professional sports franchise - Sporting KC. A Certified Hospitality Sales Executive (CHSE), Michael Dominquez wowed us at KCMPI's Professional Education Conference at The Elms last May. Together they combine to deliver a knockout punch of location and education at the chic Shield Club at Sporting Park.

Join us Thursday, March 14 to experience the "reality" of Sporting Park and the return of industry expert Michael Dominquez as he shares his knowledge about "Understanding the Hotel Business Model TODAY." Tours of Sporting Park will be offered.

A reception follows the program, featuring a buffet of specially selected hors d'oeuvres. Beer and wine will be available during the reception, as well as for a limited time during registration.

Course Objectives:
In this two-part presentation, Michael Dominquez takes an in-depth look at the "Hotel Business Model TODAY" in our economic environment in order to provide an understanding of negotiating in these uncertain times.

He takes a hard look at the economic meltdown, the recovery, RevPAR (revenue per available room) projections and an ever changing consumer. You'll leave with an understanding of:

  • The driving issues in the hotel industry and how that impacts your meetings
  • What economic conditions to expect for 2013 from industry research
  • What questions do you need to ask to make sure you leverage appropriately.

Clock Hours:
You will receive 1.5 clock hours for attending this education program. On your CMP application/renewal this would be categorized toward CMP International Starndards: Strategic Planning. CIC will have final approval on education value when your CMP application is submitted.

Parking Instructions/Cost:

Parking is complimentary to guests in the Sprint Plaza, a private parking lot directly behind the Shield Club where the program is being held.
