The World Health Organizaton (WHO) declares a Phase 6 Pandemic Alert
A Phase 6 Pandemic Alert was declared by the WHO in 2009 and continues in 2010. As the global response to the H1N1 Flu (swine flu) outbreak changes rapidly, PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton has joined other industry leaders in urging people to follow expert advice in making health-related decisions about travel. Advisories issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other government agencies about H1N1 flu-related health issues and preventative actions shoud be monitored for updates. As this story evolves, PCMA will continue to work with other organizations to keep meeting professionals informed of key developments.
