Nancy Elder, CAE, as Director of Meetings and Industry Relations for the American Society for Microbiology, is responsible for professional education program development, face-to-face meeting and distance learning product development and launches, industry relations and the exhibits programs, meeting management, and product marketing for the Society.

She has been with ASM since 1996. Prior to that time, she was responsible for the meetings of the American Society for Training and Development from 1990 to 1996 and at the American Chemical Society between 1979 and 1990. Following her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 1976, she worked in Washington, DC in hotel operations for the former Sheraton Carlton and The Fairfax.

Nancy has been a member of PCMA since the early 1980s and has been involved in Committee work, including chairing task forces and serving as the Annual Meeting Program Chair in 2003.
