Joseph V. (Joe) Popolo, Jr. is CEO of Freeman. Joe joined the company as assistant treasurer in 1997, was promoted to vice president, finance and treasurer in 1999, and named president in 2001. He took on the role of CEO in July 2008 when Don Freeman transitioned to his current role as Chairman. Prior to joining Freeman, Joe served as government affairs representative for Roadway Services Inc. in Washington, D.C.

Joe graduated from Boston College with a bachelor's degree in finance. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

Active in the hospitality and events industry as well as the community, Joe currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the International Association for Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), and is a past trustee of the PCMA Education Foundation. He is a member of Y.P.O. International, and is trustee for the foundation of the National Catholic Partnership on Disability, and is a member of the Youth Livestock Auction Committee for the State Fair of Texas.

Joe and his wife Chris live in Dallas with daughter Kit, and sons Buck and Connor.
