Biography: TYRA W. HILLIARD, Esq., CMP is a consultant and educator whose work focuses on legal and risk management issues for meeting and event professionals. She teaches in master's degree program at The George Washington University and the meetings diploma program at the UNLV Singapore campus.
Tyra is a frequent contributor to meetings industry trade publications, does customized training for hospitality, meeting and event professionals, and enjoys facilitating educational programs at industry group meetings in the U.S. and globally. She has done consulting and training on a wide variety of tourism and hospitality topics including liability issues, risk management, and core business issues.
Tyra's eclectic tourism and hospitality career includes working as an association meeting planner, a catering manager, and a convention and visitors bureau sales manager. Her industry experience gives her a unique perspective on the legal and business aspects of meeting and event management.
