Save the Date for the 2007 PCMA Leadership Conference
The 2007 Leadership Conference, April 15 - 17 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, is now open to all PCMA members. This meeting will offer three days of innovative education and exceptional networking to enhance your leadership skills.
Speakers include Walt Disney World Resort President Meg Crofton, a 27-year Disney veteran; leadership expert and author Lance Secretan, Ph.D., former CEO of a Fortune 100 company; Consuelo Castillo- Kickbusch, who retired as one of the highest-ranking Latinas in the U.S. Army; Chuck Martin, a best-selling author and strategist; Dark Horse Recording CEO Robin Crow; and Robert Staub, author of three books on leadership. Fees are $150 for PCMA Professional, Associate Professional, or Faculty Members and $235 for PCMA Supplier Partner or Associate Supplier Partner Members.

Industry Leaders to be Honored at
PCMA Education Foundation Dinner
The 2007 PCMA Education Foundation Dinner Cele- brating Professional Achievement will be held on June 13, 2007 at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C., and will recognize three PCMA members who represent excellence in the industry. The event also features a silent auction to benefit the PCMA Education Foundation. Luxurious trips and other items will be available for bid.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize these three outstanding individuals. We're grateful for their contributions to the industry and support of PCMA," said PCMA President & CEO Deborah Sexton.
Michael Payne, Meeting Professional Honoree, is executive vice president and managing director, SmithBucklin Corporation. He has held many volunteer leadership positions within PCMA, including Chairman of the Board in 2004. Payne currently serves on the PCMA Education Foundation Board of Trustees.
Susan Iris, Supplier Partner Honoree, is vice president, U.S., Canadian Tourism Commission in Washington, D.C. She has served on the PCMA Board of Directors, various international committees, and serves on the PCMA Education Foundation Board of Trustees.
Deborah Breiter, Ph.D., Educator Honoree, is the department chair for tourism, events, and attractions at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Breiter helped develop PCMA's faculty internship program, has been involved with the faculty task force and industry issues committee, and served as a lead editor for Professional Meeting Management, fifth edition.

PCMA Education Foundation's Party With a Purpose Helps Disadvantaged Youth
During the 2007 PCMA Annual Meeting in Toronto, Immediate Past Education Foundation Chairman John Patronski and Immediate Past PCMA Chairman Leigh Wintz present a check for $30,000 to Sandy Birnie, executive director of YOUTHLINK, a Toronto charity for disadvantaged youth. The money was raised through the 14th Annual Party With a Purpose held Jan. 8 at Toronto nightclub This Is London. The event also benefits the PCMA Education Foundation and the PCMA Network for the Needy program. GES Exposition Services is the founding sponsor of Party With a Purpose. The Mexico Tourism Board is this year's 'Transcend' Sponsor.
