Third Annual Service in Sync Continues to Make a Difference
Sixteen PCMA chapters across North America mobilized for PCMA's third annual Service in Sync events in early November. Here's how more than 300 volunteers gave back to their communities.
Canada East chapter members donated $450 and more than six bags of clothes to the Scott Mission, a Christian Ministry of Mercy and Love.
Canada West chapter volunteers culled and composted seven pallets of fruit and vegetables, offloaded donations from trucks, stacked pallets, and stocked and priced products at the Quest Food Exchange.
Gulf States chapter volunteers donated and sorted 26,000 pounds of food for the North Texas Food Bank. Heartland chapter members donated 600-plus pounds of food and sorted nearly 1,000 pounds of cleaning suppliers for needy families served by Harvesters and Operation Food Search.
Greater Philadelphia chapter volunteers refurbished the family lounge of the Anna M. Sample House Family Shelter in Camden, N.J.
New York Area chapter volunteers served meals to more than 300 people over two days at the Bowery Mission of NYC. More than 70 volunteers from the Pacific Northwest chapter donated in excess of 150 pounds of food and packaged 12,600 meals for Food Lifeline of Western Washington, Oregon Food Bank, and Second Harvest Inland NW.
POWER chapter volunteers donated money, clothing, and toiletries to Holy Family Institute; donated cleaning supplies to stock five family apartments managed by Homeless Families Foundation of Columbus; and donated 30 smoke detectors to teenage mothers with newborns through Dayton Children's Hospital.
Rocky Mountain chapter volunteers donated $400 and their time to the Autumn Craft Party at Children's Hospital of Denver.
Southeast chapter volunteers prepared and served dinner to patients undergoing treatment at American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.
Southwest & Pacific chapter volunteers sorted 100 bins of food at the San Diego Food Bank, and boxed 1,200 pounds of food at the Garden Grove Food Bank.
