A Message from the President:

 

Welcome!  Last year was record-breaking for the POWER Chapter.  One of our student chapters, Kent State University, was named Student Chapter of the Year, membership grew by 17% and we nearly doubled attendance at each of our chapter events.  Our chapter also recruited the most new members in 2009, and in doing so, have won a free "Best In Class" speaker ($2,500 value) for our efforts.  Thank you for making 2009 our best ever!

The upcoming year also has much to offer.  The Education Committee has put together another year of fantastic programming. Each chapter education event builds upon our education series, "Leading Change for New Opportunities". These challenging times call for us to be as innovative and creative as ever with our time and resources.  Our programming this year aims to help you do your job as effectively as possible while maintaining the high caliber of education for which PCMA is known.

We're traveling around our region again this year and will be in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh on a rotating basis. We hope you'll be able to join us for this excellent programming throughout the year.  We're keeping costs low (no more than $30) and have added a $10 student and faculty rate.  We're hosting several nationally known industry experts, all at an affordable price.

We will again be offering continuing education credits (CEU's) for educational events. We encourage you to use this opportunity to work toward achieving or renewing industry certifications. We'll also be offering a morning session on "Mining for CMP Points" to help those interested in taking the CMP exam.

I encourage you to get involved in the chapter, however much time you can offer.  From volunteering to do just one thing, like solicit a raffle prize or write an article for the newsletter, to joining or chairing a committee, we'd love to get you involved and help you make the most of your membership.  The more people you meet, the more worthwhile your membership will be.
