On behalf of the Canada East Chapter, we want to welcome you to our web site! Your Chapter Leadership Team is pleased to offer cutting-edge programs, community service projects, professional recognition, any many other opportunities for members. As a Chapter we are committed to supporting future industry leaders through our scholarship program with area community colleges & universities by providing endowments to students pursuing careers in the meetings industry. Our members are some of the most involved in the industry and we invite you to join our Chapter!

A Message from our President:

I am honored to serve as President of the PCMA Canada East Chapter for 2012. Many thanks to Jacqui Sullivan, Immediate Past President, and her hard-working Board for an excellent 2011. The Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons have already begun generating ideas and implementing practices for you - our valued members - so that you can get the most out of your membership with PCMA. Many of you already serve on committees, living the creed of the more you get involved, the more you get out of it.

For those of you not on a committee, it is our pleasure to be able to bring you top education, excellent networking opportunities, professional development and, naturally, a little fun along the way! While each committee has specific goals they are going to meet this year, the overall goal is to reach out to our members, and provide the education content they are asking for.  

We are always looking for ways to grow our membership. Please bring a client or co-worker to one of our education sessions this year, at no charge. PCMA offers the best educational sessions in our industry, along with excellent networking opportunities, and professional development.  As we progress through the year, I look forward to connecting with each and every one of you. Never hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns or ideas for the Chapter.  It is going to be an amazing year. Justin Toth, Department of Athletics, University of Guelph - "Congratulations" go to Justin who was the recipient of the new PCMA "Emerging Leader Award" which was presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting in San Diego. This new award is to identify and honor an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary service and leadership early in her/her career.

Justin has been a guiding light and mentor to the student members in both Canada East and Canada West and we are proud to have him as our Director of Student Affairs for the Canada East Chapter!  Justin has also recently joined the University of Guelph as their Intramurals, Clubs, Camps and Community Leagues Coordinator.  He was formerly with the 2012 Toronto Para-Pan Am Games.

Scholarships:

PCMA Canada East is proud to offer scholarships for both Meeting Planners and Students!

NEW 2012 Planner Member Scholarship! If you are a meeting planner who has yet to join PCMA now is the year to do it and get your name entered into our draw for a scholarship to attend the PCMA Annual Meeting "Convening Leaders" taking place in Orlando, Florida, January 13-16, 2013.  When you join your name will automatically be added to the ballots from which a lucky winner will be drawn on September 27th.  For more information contact your PCMA Canada East Chapter Administrator.
